Both the State of Texas and the City of San Antonio recommend pre-screening temperature checks for all employees and customers, per CDC guidelines, as best practices and guidelines for the safe return to business. 

The City of San Antonio’s website states:

“Business owners are encouraged to take the “Greater, SAfer, Together” pledge and download a toolkit with printable materials. The pledge requires the use of face coverings by employees and visitors and asks businesses to commit to other health and safety protocols including physical distancing, temperature checks and other CDC recommendations. Businesses that take the pledge may post their commitment to be in compliance with Bexar County’s requirement to develop and post a Health and Safety Policy.”

The City of San Antonio has not made it mandatory for businesses to conduct temperature checks of customers, but they are strongly encouraging businesses to do so if they have the resources to implement the technology.
